Card of Christmas Past

Thanksgiving has just passed and we actually managed to get our Christmas card created and ordered! Like, before December 20th...without having to pay $30 for expedited shipping...It's nothing short of a Christmas miracle! We are hoping it will make people laugh and smile as much as this one from last year (which I forgot to post). Since joining Instagram, I've been lazy about updating the blog. New Years resolution.

Movie Night!!!

Mum is away for a conference so I'm treating my girls to a slice of classic cinematic excellence with a side of homemade popcorn.

On to Chicago.

Since the news of her Mum's new job with the University of Illinois, Ferniechick has been getting bombarded with questions from the press - "Won't you miss living the Northwest?!", "What about the mountains...camping, hiking?" "Will you miss the ocean?", "Aren't you disappointed that you aren't moving to New England?!". She remained cool and expressionless as she repeated just four words: "We're on to Chicago."

Khaleebe Mother of Pteranodons

This is what happens when your kid's interest in dinosaurs equals your obsession with Game of Thrones. Phoebe turned 3 years old this weekend and has usurped her mother as "Queen of the House". Phoebe...er...Khaleebe is a kind and sweet ruler for the most part, but when it comes to bedtime she can become as unhinged as King Aerys "The Mad King" himself.

Fiddlehead Fernie

Been away from blogging for a while...two kids keep you busy, who knew?! Anyway, this what a 4 month old fiddlehead Fern looks like!

Christmas 2016 - the best Christmas yet!

2016 sucked but we got a little spark of joy right at the end as Phoebe, Martha, and I welcome baby Fern into our family just in time for Christmas!

Happy Festivus! - 2016

I'm a day late posting this - Phoebe, Martha and I have been at the hospital with Phoebe's brand new baby sister, Fern! We will hopefully get to bring Fern home this afternoon, just in time for Feats of Strength!

My little shieldmaiden.

DEADLIEST CATCH: Phoebe & Friends Edition

With the Opilio crab season just around the corner, Phoebe and her friends set sail off Camano Island Washington for the Bering Sea to set their crab pots and make their quota.

"Hello in there..."

While performing a routine checkup, Dr. Pheebs makes a shocking discovery...it appears that some kind of rapidly growing parasite has taken up residence in her Mum's tum tums. More tests are needed.

Pheebs Goes Camping Again! 2016

While visiting Paradise on Mount Rainier this July, Phoebe posed for a photo opp with a friend. *Some of you haters will say "Oh this is totally Photoshopped because bald eagles don't nest in Rainier National Park!!!" ...well you'd be right. So to put all your suspicion to rest you should know that Phoebe brought this eagle from home.*

Why so serious? ...and why so sticky?

Summer is in full swing and when Phoebe is enjoying a special frozen treat, she's all smiles and maniacal laughter...not unlike the Joker. "Introduce a little popsicle anarchy. Upset the established mealtime, and everything becomes chaos. I'm an agent of chaos...and popsicles." -Phoebe

The Phobbit - An Unexpected Blog Post

All matter of flora look pretty awesome this time of year in Seattle when there's a perfect balance of rain and sunshine. In fact, many places in town are reminiscent of the Shire. In LoTR, Gandalf wisely explained to Frodo "...All you have to decide is what to do with the time that is given to you." So I decided to make Phoebe into a hobbit.

PHOEBEX. A CROWN FOR EVERY ACHIEVEMENT.

Phoebe might not be able to read analog time yet, but that doesn't mean she cant look dope while she's out in the garden in just her diaper. That's why she wears a PHOEBEX. *Credit where it's due: While editing pics from this weekend I saw this pic of Pheebs and thought that it look like she's flashing a bomb timepiece...to which my brilliant wife replied, "Like a ROLEX Ad." Thank you, Martha.

"You Remind Me of the Pheebz" - Jareth

This post was meant for January as a tribute to David Bowie after his passing this year. Two months later, we finally found the time to get it together...we think it was worth the wait :) Labyrinth was a huge part of my childhood and I CAN NOT WAIT until Phoebe is old enough so we can watch it together!
